In an article published by La Nouvelle République on December 8, 2018, the newspaper highlighted the Scouarnec-Chabert family gathered at Château de Mosny in Saint-Martin-le-Beau for a sculpture exhibition.
Bronze, ceramic, wood, and stoneware pieces filled the castle rooms. Jean-Louis and Martine Scouarnec, both ceramic sculptors, presented anthropomorphic and fairy-tale-inspired animal figures.
Their son-in-law, Pierre-Jean Chabert, a wildlife sculptor based at Ateliers de la Morinerie in Saint-Pierre-des-Corps, exhibited his highly realistic clay and bronze works:
“I prefer sculpting animals because humans have too many imperfections — they amuse me less.”
The article also mentions Sarah Chabert, lighting designer, and the younger generation already embracing the family’s creative legacy.
