The cultural space La Douve in Langeais hosts two artists whose works, though different, complement each other: Nental, the collage artist, and Pierre-Jean Chabert, animal sculptor. Nental’s plexiglass collages reveal reflections of Chabert’s bronze sculptures through their transparent layers.
After a varied career, Pierre-Jean Chabert now models clay near Tours. He presents what he calls his animal portraits— realistic works that capture a moment of life, a gaze, or the purity of a free animal. Working with clay, resin, and bronze, he creates powerful and poetic sculptures, such as his three elephants or a large-scale hippopotamus emerging from the floor.
