In an article published by La Nouvelle République on April 29, 2017, the newspaper revisits the joint exhibition of wildlife sculptor Pierre-Jean Chabert and collage artist Nental, held at the Espace culturel de La Douve in Langeais.
The realism of Chabert’s sculptures gives visitors the sensation of entering a bronze and clay wildlife park, where hippos, elephants, and horses seem frozen mid-motion.
Clay, resin, bronze — Pierre-Jean Chabert brings these materials to life through precision of detail, but above all through expression and movement.
Facing them, Nental’s Plexiglas collages play with reflection and transparency, creating a visual dialogue between surface and depth. Together, their works form a poetic bridge between animal strength and abstract texture.
The exhibition, open until May 21, 2017, offered an immersive experience where sculpted life and layered imagery resonated in harmony.
