Published on September 22, 2025 by La Nouvelle République, the article highlights a joint exhibition by two Touraine artists: painter Clarisse Dernoncourt and sculptor Pierre-Jean Chabert.
Held at the Château de Gizeux until November 1st, 2025, the show combines painting and sculpture around a shared theme — the animal world.
Clarisse Dernoncourt’s works, using oil, watercolor, and pencil, capture the raw power and fragility of wild animals through movement and emotion.
Facing them, Pierre-Jean Chabert’s bronze sculptures convey both strength and grace. Rhinos, lions, gorillas, and horses seem to break free from the material, charged with inner vitality.
“In a gaze, a muscular tension, a balance about to burst.”
Each piece embodies the essence of life suspended in form — a poetic bestiary where art and nature meet.
