Description

The polar bear is impossible to approach without considering the threats facing its species. This remarkable animal combines an impression of immense physical power with an ecological vulnerability that has become emblematic of climate change. Applying a white patina to bronze is an unusual and deliberately bold choice. It gives the polar bear sculpture a contemporary appearance, sometimes close to the visual softness of ceramic, while preserving the weight and presence of cast bronze.
